East Hagbourne Scarecrow Trail 2008 Summer Scarecrow Invasion. Each summer, for 2 weeks, the Action Group of East Hagbourne hold a scarecrow trail. Drivers through the village probably wonder what the devil is going on but it’s all good fun and in support of a charity called the Friends of St. Anne’s Hospital (St. Anne’s is in Liuli, Tanzania and is one of the Charities that St. Andrew’s church perpetually support. There’s two ways to take part in the scarecrow trail . . . What could be more lovely than wandering the paths of East Hagbourne on a summer’s day and finishing at the church for a cuppa and some cake? Previous winners are . . .
