Children from Hagbourne Primary School and Hagbourne Pre-School attended the ceremony and then soon were busy "testing" all the new equipment. Funding was obtained from SODC & TOE to supplement funds from EHPC and the Monica Lawson Memorial Fund. Many, many thanks must go to Rob Rendell and the team for their efforts in bringing this project to a successful conclusion. LATEST FLOOD NEWS O.C.C. Highways Department are now analyzing all the data obtained from the camera survey of the road drains undertaken in September, when they spent over a week cleaning and surveying drains in the village. Some further work will probably be needed over the coming year and we will give you more details as they become available. The winter rains are now approaching so we ask those of you who live next to the stream to ensure that excess vegetation is cleared regularly so that the flow of water is not impeded. PARISH PLAN UPDATE The report on your responses to the survey that was carried out at the end of last year is being prepared. These responses will form the basis for a Parish Plan to be drawn up over this winter. Britain in Bloom See separate announcement in this edition for an Open Meeting on 9th November in the Village Hall. BUTTS PIECE Investigations continue to determine whether it would be feasible to sink a well to provide water for the allotments. We hope to form a working party over the winter to drive the project forwards. If you are interested in helping please contact Robert Rendell (512425) or the Parish Clerk. PARKING Please take care to park your vehicles where they will not cause a hazard to other road users and especially so as to avoid obstructing pavements and footpaths. The guideline is that you should leave enough space for a pushchair to pass. Remember that pavements are for pedestrians. |
