VILLAGES IN BLOOM

We are delighted to report that East Hagbourne won record marks in the regional Britian in Bloom competition and will represent the Thames and Chiltern Region in the national finals next year. A BIG thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the village look it’s best for the judges.

FLOODING UPDATE

The Environment Agency has contacted local landowners regarding their duty in the clearance of the waterways. The situation will be closely monitored by the Parish Council.

HEDGES

We ask all villagers with hedges abutting the footpaths and roads to keep them well trimmed so that full use can be made of the public paths and highways.

SOLDIERS OF OXFORDSHIRE

We have received a brochure from Soldiers of Oxfordshire. This organisation aims to set up a military museum in the county and establish a Research Centre for all Oxfordshire families which have been or may be in the future affected by the Nation’s conflicts. The Research Centre has a temporary home at MOD Caversfield, Bicester and hopes to relocate to Woodstock. The volunteers look after the collections of the county’s Regiments, catalogue the archives and participate and help in research.
If you would like to be involved please contact their Chairman, Ian Inshaw on 01869 874352.
