EAST HAGBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL Parish Council Meetings in 2008 Please put these dates in your diary or organiser:- 2nd October; 13th November. All meetings will be held at 7.30 pm on Thursdays in the Village Hall. You are all always welcome! Your views are important to us! Current Planning Applications 1. 40 New Road P08/W820 Mr & Mrs A Wilson. Erection of Double Garage. This is a revised proposal, the previous application was refused on Appeal because, amongst other concerns, part of the existing beech hedge would be lost. The revised application provides that the existing hedge is retained and new trees planted. 2. 70 New Road P08/W931 Ms M.Granito. Erection of single storey extensions to rear. Single storey extension to front. Removal of existing garage/workshop replaced with new. 3. 23 Bishops Orchard P08/W767 Mr & Mrs Frost. New side conservatory. 4. 22 New Road P08/W812 Mr & Mrs E Barnett. Front extension. Village Website - www.easthagbourne.net Progress has slowed slightly owing to absences over the summer holidays. The team met this week to formulate a programme of reviewing the existing content of the website and taking steps to update their content, requiring the making of contact with individuals in the Village with direct connections to that content. Chris A, Chris B, Derek & Doug Speed Enforcement - Main Road The Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership considered an application for speed enforcement cameras. From evidence gathered the body were unable to identify a “well founded speed related risk” to road users and therefore the application was rejected. The Parish Council is looking into the suggested alternative ways to deal with the problem. Butts Piece A preliminary survey of about 100 residents in the immediate vicinity has been undertaken. Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond - we were delighted with the high level of responses received. All views are being considered by the sub committee, which reports to the Parish Council. Dog Fouling Free bags for the disposal of dog faeces are now available from the Village shop. Please use them to help make the Village paths a more pleasant experience to use. Parish Plan The Parish Council would like to thank the sub committee for the sterling work in producing a commendable draft of the Parish Plan. This is an important document which is to be used to guage your aspirations for the Village in many different areas. When the Plan is distributed to every household in the Parish please take the trouble to complete it as your views are vital. Review of Dial-A-Ride Services Oxfordshire County Council are reviewing the provision of this service which is aimed at disabled and mobility impaired people. There is currently not a district-wide funded dial-a-ride service in South Oxfordshire. Flooding Ed Vaisey our MP has given his support to the Village as it tries to find a way to deal with the flooding problems. SODC and the Environment Agency are carrying out a detailed survey.
