I'm just starting to explore the site, which I discovered while doing family history research. My great-grandfather, Richard Richards, was farm bailiff at York Farm, West Hagbourne in the 1870s. It look great so far!

My family research has taken me to your site as the 1861 census shows Eli Slade as being born there. I need to explore Oxfordshire/Berkshire villages some more

Generations of my family came from East Hagbourne including the Andrews, Nappers and Dearloves. The Andrews lived in Fieldside and its great to take a walk through the village and see where they once lived and how little the village has changed.

East Hagbourne could well be the home of one of my ancestors James PAYTON. In the 1851 Census, there was a family called Payton in East Hagbourne. And James Payton was referred to as a Licensed Vituller, at the Fleur de Lys, in Shoe Lane perhaps?

I have such fond memories of growing up in East Hagbourne and recently I returned with my wife for a trip down memory lane and to show her the village for the first time. It's as lovely as ever and the food at the Fleur is top notch. I was delighted to find your website - it looks great. One question: Is it possible to buy a print of Linda Benton's artwork featured on your homepage? I'd love a copy.

Do you have to live in Hagbourne to join the bookgroup - or can you 'commute' from the Astons? Great site!

There isn't enough informationon the fun run. Pictures from last year look great but when is this year's event? What time does it start? How much does it cost and how do I enter?!
Editor: The site is run on a volunteer basis and the information we get varies a lot year to year. Sorry we are not always consistent.

I own a watercolor of St. Andrews with the cross and a few buildings in the background. I purchased it at an antique store some years ago. I just thought it was "pretty" and never knew anything about it. A few months ago, I re-framed it and found the references to East Hagbourne.
My husband and I will be travelling through Britain in June (we're coming from California)...and we simply must visit East Hagbourne. Can't wait.
I can't quite make out the name of the artist - but it might be "R. Law" or something like that. If anyone has any information - would love to know. It's a beautiful picture and a lovely work.
See you in June.

Would it be possible for you to scan a copy of the picture and send us a copy for the website? (info@easthagbourne.net)

Just spent a happy lunch hour looking through your site. I lived in Fieldside as a child from 1961-1972 and have very fond memories of the village. My only complaint is there aren't any photos of the Blewbury end of the village but otherwise the site's great. I'll be back!

I have just begun researching my family tree and have found out that my grandmothers family were from East Hagbourne. I intend to visit during 2006. Do you have an active family history society in the village? The family name I am interested in is Francis Dearlove.
See your village soon.
Happy New Year.

My family and I are due to come and spend a few days in your lovely village in May this year and having looked at this website, I can hardly wait to visit. It looks delightful, busy, active, friendly and very beautiful. I must congratulate those involved in setting up this site as it certainly gives a very favourable view of your lovely village. I hope the Oast House lives up to this high standard! I feel sure it will. Jackie Willems.

Excellent site, full of interesting information. I've had the pleasure of visiting the village several times during the course of family history research and it's a lovely place to be - it's great to see the village so well represented on this website.

Stumbled across your website after seeing a re-run of Dr Who and being so enchanted by the village. A little bit of detective work on the Web uncovered that "Devesham" = "East Hagbourne".
Looks like a lovely place and I will definitely be paying the Fleur de Lys a visit next time I'm in the UK.

Thanks for an excellent website. The visitor's book is of particular interest. Perhaps Beery Bob, Webmaster, and friends should meet up soon to discuss its further development.

Can you please mend the link at the bottom of the fruit and veg link - I have a group of friends wanting to take a look.
All in all a jolly pleasant www site. I'd happily stand the first round if I were to meet the author in a public house.

It's a thrill to see the website develop so attractively. The services offerred are very impressive.
We must give urgent consideration to the installation of an access point to the internet for those who would like to access weekly.
Keep up the excellent work, thanks to the team.
