EAST HAGBOURNE PLAYGROUND

Sadly the first damage by vandals has occurred. This is always a possibility as the Recreation Ground is somewhat out on a limb away from many houses. If you see any untoward activity, or hear unusual sounds from the play area, please call the Police immediately. Meanwhile the PC has had confirmation from O.C.C. that they are responsible for the maintenance of Great Mead so that the potholes have been added to their schedule of works before they become too dangerous. This is obviously required in view of all the extra foot traffic generated by the users of the Playground.

PARISH PLAN UPDATE

The results from the PP have now been analysed and the PC is leading a team to shape them into a Parish Plan. The aim is to have a draft available for review at the Annual Parish Meeting in April. More information will be published in the next Newsletter.

BUTTS PIECE

A working party is moving the project forward. Investigations continue to provide water, via a handpump, from a well. Thames Water have also been asked for a quotation to provide water. The current plan is to set out 24 quarter size (50 x 15ft) allotments in readiness for letting next March. If you have put your name on the waiting list but not yet heard from us please contact the Parish Clerk.

DOG FOULING

The PC is continuing to monitor the emptying and collection frequency from the Red Bins by the Contractor. It is fully realized that full bins will discourage owners from picking up and depositing their dogs mess. It is obvious that some bins have not been regularly emptied and the Contractor is being chased over this.

Washington Kunda

It is our sad duty to report of the unexpected death of the Village & PC handyman just before Christmas. He will be sadly missed.
